About

Hi, I'm Aisha- the author, cook, baker, and photographer behind Whip It Good. By day, I'm a college student residing with my family in Baltimore, MD. When I'm not buried behind my growing to-do lists..(ahem), you can find me behind the kitchen counter whipping up dinner and often sweet treats for my family.

I was born in the U.S to Afghan immigrant parents so taking on the responsibility (a privilege, I should say) of cooking meals, the typical middle eastern fare, was passed on to me at a very young age. My mom taught me a lot of what I know now about cooking. She never used recipes and would follow her intuition. Now I try to recreate the same dishes that my mom feeds us, adding my own spins along the way. I carefully keep a notebook close by in the kitchen for taking notes along the way.

It's taken lots of courage, but I have finally started this food blog after many years of passionately looking through food magazines, cookbooks, and food blogs. At Whip It Good, you'll find tried-and-true recipes and ramblings on my take on life. I'm starting this blog primarily to document my experiences in the kitchen and serve as an inspiration for myself and others to benefit from. Although occasionally I'l share recipes of Afghan cuisine from time to time, that won't be the prime focus of my blog. I'm hoping to expand on my kitchen skills and try new and versatile techniques and flavor profiles.

I hope you join me in my attempt to share my experiences, recipes, and kitchen adventures.
